FAQs
Questions and answers
Questions you might have. If yours isn't here, email abbi@sweetcheeksbakery.co.uk.
When do you open?
February 2027. Register your interest and we'll email you when we open.
Can I order now?
Not yet. We open in February 2027. You can register your interest now and we'll email you when we open. Registering doesn't place an order or book a date.
Where are you based?
We're a home bakery in Wootton, Bedford. There's no shop to visit, so collection is by arrangement.
Will you deliver?
Yes. Tell us where you are when you get in touch and we'll confirm whether we can deliver to you. Delivery is £0.55 per mile, charged on the round trip from the bakery to you and back. For example, an address 5 miles away is a 10-mile round trip, so £5.50. The delivery charge is included in your quote. Collection is free.
How will ordering work?
Once we're open, get in touch with your date and what you'd like. We'll agree the design and send you a quote, and a 20% deposit will book your date.
How much will your cakes cost?
We don't have a price list yet. Every celebration cake will be quoted individually, based on its size, flavours and design.
How much notice will you need?
As much as you can give us. Tell us your date when you get in touch and we'll let you know whether we can fit it in.
Will I need to pay a deposit?
Yes. A 20% deposit books your date, and your order isn't confirmed until it's paid. The balance is due by the date we agree with you.
Can I change my order?
Tell us as soon as you can. Changes after an order is confirmed may cost extra, especially if we've already bought ingredients or decorations, and may not be possible once we've started baking or decorating.
Can you bake for someone with an allergy?
It depends on the allergy. Tell us before you order and we'll check the ingredients in your order against it. Our kitchen handles gluten, eggs, milk, soya and peanuts, and some of the bakes we plan will contain tree nuts, so we can't guarantee any bake is free from traces of any allergen. If we can't make something safely for you, we'll say so and we won't take the order.
What happens if Abbi is ill?
Abbi is the only baker. If she's unwell and can't safely make your order, we'll tell you as soon as we reasonably can and offer you a new date, a full or partial refund, or another solution we agree with you.
How should I store my cake?
We'll tell you how to store your cake, how long it can be kept and anything you need to know about serving it, when you collect it or when we deliver it.
